W H O AM I ?
GOTTA START FROM SOMEWHERE
I snapped my first DSLR onto a cheap tripod, filmed a chemistry lecture from start to finish, and stitched my clips together in iMovie. I really didn’t know it at the time, but this was the beginning of my content creation career. What merely began as a hobby and occasional creative favor for friends & family quickly became an obsession.
SLOW & STEADY PROGRESS
Whether I was making skate videos at the beach with college buddies, travel videos of family vacations, or behind-the-scenes promos for photographer friends, I loved the cycle of shooting, editing, and releasing content. This led to me leveling up my skills and creating more sophisticated videos.
I enjoyed creating so much that I decided to switch majors, earning my way in to San Diego State University’s Television, Film, & New Media Production program. I grew especially fond of the cinematography and post-production processes and developed my camera operation, lighting, cutting, coloring, and sound designing skills to enhance my videography work.
VIDEOGRAPHY at SDSU ICE HOCKEY
I became the chief videographer and director of marketing for San Diego State University’s ice hockey team. During my time with the team, I created a variety of content for their social media including hype promos, in-arena visuals, and even some short documentaries. We saw massive growth as a result, with our Instagram following skyrocketing from 700 to >11k between 2018-19.
INTERNSHIP at HARDPIN MEDIA
In the summer of 2018, I interned with HardPin Media as a post-production assistant. I learned how to edit within a corporate creative team, practicing skills such as sequence building, audio-video syncing, QC-ing, transcoding, and archiving media. I even got to take the lead on editing some promos for clients such as this.
PRODUCTION ASSISTANT at KPBS PUBLIC MEDIA
Throughout most of college, I worked as a PA for KPBS Public Media. Here, I learned technical skills such as how to color & illuminate live feeds, record & organize media, and operate news station cameras & graphics. More importantly, working at KPBS taught me the significance of operating in highly communicative teams with tight deadlines to broadcast live content.
GRADUATION & FULL-TIME FREELANCING
In December 2019, I earned my bachelor’s degree from San Diego State University.
Upon graduation, I decided to tackle freelance videography/post-production work full-time, working with clients on music videos, event recaps, recruitment promos, and more with the key goal of bringing their visions to life.
VIDEOGRAPHY at LIQUID I.V.
In September 2020, I was brought on to the marketing team to create content full-time at Liquid I.V., one of the fastest growing wellness/hydration brands. Within the team, I help brainstorm, shoot, and edit engaging YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok content with the intention of selling product, revolutionizing the hydration game, and most importantly, showing others how they can help #ChangeTheWorld one electrolyte stick at a time.
The sky’s the limit, and my journey has only just begun.
